Jamie Osborne is a four year employee of Terra Tech Engineering who currently holds the position of Engineering Technician. Jamie began his career at Terra Tech as a CAD Technician who is extremely adept at AutoCAD and specializes in 3D renderings and presentation quality sketches. In his four years at Terra Tech Jamie worked with the engineers and learned a vast amount of engineering design. Jamie works on an array of structural design, geotechnical design, hydrology and drainage designs. Jamie also works with the project engineers to assist in the development of construction plans and completes many field inspections. For nearly two years Jamie was employed in our former Bristol, Virginia branch office where he worked at the direction of an Architect. Jamie is well versed in code research and architectural drafting and design as a result of this assignment. Upon closing of the Bristol Branch office Jamie returned to Grundy to continue with Terra Tech as an Engineering Technician.
Jamie is originally from Hurley, Virginia and a 1994 graduate of Hurley High School. Jamie attended Southwest Virginia Community College after high school and graduated in 1999 with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Drafting Technology. Jamie continues his studies while working full time at Terra Tech and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Engineering Technology from Old Dominion University. Jamie is participating in ODU's TELETECHNET distance learning program. Jamie attends classes via satellite at the Southwest Virginia Community College Campus. Jamie is a student member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and obtained a Nuclear Safety Certification from the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Jamie's response to the question 'what do you like about working at Terra Tech' is more of question. Jamie answers "What is it that makes Terra Tech a wonderful place to work? Is it the exposure to a wide variety of engineering projects, supplying you with much needed experience to help further your engineering career? Is it the casual atmosphere with a professional outlook on working relationships? Or is it that at Terra Tech you are not just an employee but part of a team..? There are so many great things about working at Terra Tech I really couldn't pick just one. But you can bet its an experience of a lifetime."
Jamie is not married and currently resides in Abingdon, Virginia and commutes to Grundy each day, but since closing the Bristol, Virginia office has been looking to relocate closer to Grundy. Jamie hasn't much time for hobbies while dividing his time between school and work but during down time he likes to play golf, ride his mountain bike, and sketching.
