A three year employee of Terra Tech, Larry Ratliff is curently in the position of Office Manager. In this capacity he also serves as one of the project managers primarily responsible for the mining projects. Larry is responsible for the management of employee workload helping to insure that deadlines are met to acheive time constraints for the client as well as helping to control cost. Larry may also be found dealing with day to day problems and making decisions to best handle the situations that develop within the workplace while maintaining a safe and pleasant atmosphere. Larry has had a host of Engineering positions in the mining industry, both in the role as a consultant engineer as well as for mining companies dealing with day to day problems of producing coal.
Larry is a 1985 graduate of Grundy Senior High School in Grundy, Virginia. Upon graduation from Grundy Senior High School Larry went on to Southwest Virginia Community College in Richlands, Virginia to pursue an Associate of Science Degree in Engineering. Larry graduated with his Associates Degree in 1988 and moved on to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. Larry graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering.
In response to the question of what he likes most about working here Larry responded "Terra Tech is a professional engineering company which strives to meet the needs of the civil and mining industries, while still recognizing that I have a demanding life away from work and by allowing me the flexability to meet these demands."
Larry is extremely active in his church and as such cites this as one of his hobbies, others that he list are camping and spending time with his family. Larry has just recently graduated from tents to the tag along camper scene which will provide even more opporunities for him to travel and spend quality time with his family. Larry and wife, Cathy, reside at Airport Road in Vansant, Virginia. with their two children, Larry David III and Amy Grace, ages 10 and 6 respectively.
