Inspection & Testing

Terra Tech provides full scale investigation, laboratory, and inspection services to both the private and public sectors.

Utilizing methods unique to the geology and terrain of the Central Appalachian Region, investigative efforts concentrate on soil classification, foundation investigation, geologic modeling and construction specification reporting.

In-house laboratory services include ASTM soil testing (moisture, organic, liquid limits, plasticity, and standard proctor) and concrete compressive strength testing. With testing conducted at our Grundy, Virginia facility, turn-around times are quick and expedited.

Our personnel will take samples on site and transport samples to the laboratory for appropriate storage and testing.

Inspection services are provided allowing for detailed field measurements by testing soil compaction/density, concrete slump, temperature, and air entrainment, and foundation preparation techniques. Field inspectors have been certified in required areas by the Virginia Department of Transportation Inspection Program in areas of Concrete Field, Asphalt Field, Soils Compaction and each are certified for Nuclear Density Gauge Safety.

Construction inspection services are performed by a staff knowledgeable in architecture, structural engineering and building design. Inspectors verify as-built configurations in conjunction with designed plans. Reports are provided describing both level and accuracy of completeness along with approvals on contractor pay submittals. Quality inspections insure the client that a good design is transformed into a good product.
