Because of the evident decline in easily accessible coal reserves and the vast amount of previously mined lands within the Appalachian Region, the need for creative planning and the use of advanced technology is present today more than ever. Terra Tech provides services to the mining industry to assist in maximum coal recovery. These services include assistance in mining exploration, reserve evaluations, mine planning and permitting, regulatory compliance assistance and permitting, NPDES permitting and sampling, pre-blasting / pre-construction reports, AML project designs and inspections, stockpile testing, volume reports, tree planting, vegetation surveys, both active and passive acid mine water evaluation and treatment system design, and capital - operating cost evaluations.

Terra Tech’s staff maintains an excellent working relationship with the regulatory agencies which have authority and jurisdiction over the mining industry. These include, but are not limited to, OSM, EPA, MSHA, DEQ, Virginia's DMME, Kentucky's DNR, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and West Virginia's DEP. Projects have been performed and completed in environmentally sensitive areas as well.
