Civil Engineering
Terra Tech prides itself as leading the way in civil engineering development in mining-based communities. Because of the difficulties encountered in mountainous terrain areas such as those found in Central Appalachia, building community support infrastructure, including roads, water systems, industrial sites and housing provides its own set of challenges. At Terra Tech, we are familiar with the terrain and the resources at hand, which is a critical first step in any development project.
Site engineering, roadway corridor studies, VDOT inspection services with nuclear density testing and concrete analysis, municipal water supply designs, wastewater treatment and structural analysis of steel, wood and concrete structure are offered. Terra Tech also specializes in retaining wall design with emphasis on segmental retaining wall systems. Our staff has developed unique techniques which combine the principal coal and gas industries in this region with the needs of their surrounding communities. We have been involved in numerous collaborative efforts with the mining industry and local and state governments on road development and design. We can take the lead for you in terms of project budgeting, surveying and stake-out, to paving of the final grade. Terra Tech utilizes the latest in computer technology and GIS software to produce surface modeling, cut and fill volume calculations, pipe network analysis with steady state flow and incremental time flows, water distribution system modeling, highway design and layout, highway entrance designs, flood zone determinations, erosion and sediment control plans, land development, subdivision site construction design, project and construction management and feasibility studies. Our participation in large and complex development projects has provided Terra Tech with an extensive level of knowledge and experience. That experience in the past 20 years has allowed us to offer the highest selection of services possible to our clients on a local level. |
