Surveying
Property boundary surveys, construction stake-outs, coal stockpile volume surveys, utility construction surveys, cross section surveys, topographic site maps, flood elevation determinations and as-built surveys are among the surveying capabilities of Terra Tech staff. With more than 50 years of combined experience in surveying, our services in this field include mine surveying – both underground and surface; construction layout work for excavation and grading. From the latest in GPS surveying technology to conventional tools, and most recently, the addition of both a fixed wing drone and a quad copter drone, surveys are precise and processing time is quick.
Using AutoCad, SurvCADD and other presentational graphic programs, Terra Tech can display the collected data from a survey in many different arrays including both two-dimensional and three-dimensional formats. Utilizing the aforementioned tools and technology, all plats, drawings and calculations are presented in a manner to best depict both actual conditions and any proposed modifications.
All surveying functions performed at Terra Tech are under the direct supervision of a registered land surveyor. Terra Tech has professional licensing as land surveyors in Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky. A large portion of its property boundary work involves the research of older deeds and past ownership changes. Our staff is from the region and as such, the knowledge they have of local property history is extensive and helpful in the chain of title research which oftentimes goes back to original 19th Century land grants.
